Mr. Adu Essel Sampson is a cocoa farmer, business man and the current president for West Akyem Cocoa Cooperatives and a board member of Adom Cocoa Buyers Limited. He was born on 24th August 1969 in Asamankese, Eastern region. He attended the T.I Ahmadiya Secondary School in Central region for his O Level education.

As a member and elected president of the union since 2019, he was instrumental in the formation of the union, and also made significant contribution towards the union becoming an SPO Fairtrade certified, provision of infrastructure to member societies and acquisition of provisional license for Adom LBC.
He is married with five children.
