About Adom Cocoa

Adom Licensed Cocoa Buying Company Limited (ALBCL), is a subsidiary of the amalgamation of Nine (9) Cocoa Life partnered Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Unions. It’s a private limited liability company incorporated under the company’s Act (Act,997) of Ghana in July 2018 and licenced by the Ghana Cocoa Board (hereafter referred to as COCOBOD) in October 2021 to trade in the local purchase and marketing of cocoa beans in Ghana.

The Company was setup by a resolution passed at a special general assembly meeting of the association of Cooperatives held on 18th April, 2018.
These were seven independent farmer based cooperative unions who primarily produce ethical, traceable (Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance) and conventional cocoa beans from 27,537 member- farmers within Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region), Asamankese (in West Akyem), Suhum (in Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District), Anyinam (in the Fanteakwa District), Antoakrom (in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region); New Juaben (New Juaben Municipal in the Eastern Region) and Daboase (Wassa East District in the Western Region) which is yet to become shareholder. In 2020, Offinso Fine Flavor, Asetenepa and Awutu Senya joined as shareholders, making a total of 9 shareholders. Currently, the member cooperative unions have increased to Fifteen (12). The new cooperative unions include Ayirebi Ofoase Organic in the Eastern region, Asutifi North and Asutifi South Cooperative Cocoa Farmers Union. Currently, nine (9) out of these twelve (12) cooperatives are the shareholders of Adom CBC.

ADOM’s vision is of thriving cooperative producer-centered market leader in the internal marketing of sustainable and ethical cocoa in Ghana.

To work together with its partners to source environmentally sustainable and ethically produced cocoa beans from member cooperatives in Ghana through gender inclusiveness, good governance, and equitable distribution of wealth to improve the socio-economic livelihood of members and employees.
